Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. You can use the map and list without an account. Only adding places and sending reports need a Google sign-in.

How do I find the nearest smoking area?

Tap the location button at the bottom right of the map and allow location access. Places are then sorted by distance. Distances are straight lines, not walking routes.

The pin is a little off.

When the source data has no coordinates, we locate the building from its address. Check the location details on the place page and the signs on site.

The map shows a smoking area, but it is not there.

Open the place and tap “Report a smoking area that is gone”. After reports from 3 different users it is hidden automatically.

Can I smoke in cafés in Korea?

Smoking is banned inside cafés and restaurants in Korea. You can only smoke in a separate smoking room, and these are usually for customers. Use the “Cafés” filter on the map to see them.

What about e-cigarettes and heated tobacco?

They are not allowed in no-smoking areas either. Please use a smoking area.

Is my location stored?

No. Your location is only used in your browser to work out distances and show the map. It is never sent to or stored on our server.

Do you cover other cities?

Only Seoul for now.
